Display a rainbow of hot peppers in the garden or on the plate from this jazzy blend of red, yellow, purple, and orange varieties. The most attractive blend we have ever seen, these cayennes turn up the heat for lively salsas and sauces . . . not to mention their ornamental appeal when dried and strung!
Certified Organic, this blend from seed contains all the bright colors you love on tapered peppers about 3 inches long. They keep their colors even after drying, so you can grind them into bold spice mixes or use them as ornaments indoors and out.
Cayenne Mix is delicious for fresh eating, too. Stuff the small peppers for appetizer bites (hot hot HOT!), chop them into Mexican dishes, and add them to chili, bean bakes, and other casserole-style cuisine.
They also do well on the grill, acquiring rich smoky accents when placed right on the hot coals! Start seeds indoors or, in climate with short growing seasons, outdoors at least one week after last frost. If starting indoors, allow 7 to 10 weeks for the seeds to mature into seedlings large enough to transplant safely.
Set seedlings (or thin direct-sown seedlings) 2 feet apart in full sun. If planting many seedlings, space rows about 3 feet apart. Fertilize when the blooms appear, and water well. Fruit is most nutritious if allowed to ripen on the plant. Pkt is 25 seeds.
They would have probably been great. Unfortunately a tornado came and blew them away along with our homeI'm very pleased with these peppers. They are the perfect size for poppers and very easy to grow.Best I've found. These are huge! Perfect for stuffing ! I Finally found the variety I'm sticking with!Been in the ground not on has come up yetWanted to wait to see germination rates. All seeds germinated and are very healthy seedlings. Looking forwarding to the peppers.I ordered 2 pkg. all but 5-6 germinated.Almost all of the seeds that I planted germinated and are growing well. The best thing so far is that I noticed is that this strain seems more resistant to white flies. I grow several types of peppers (outside) and all vary with how much these little pests attack them. The white flies love bell and jalapeno peppers, my Thai chili peppers much less. I have only seen a couple white flies on these garden salsa peppers. I won't use poison on my food but did plant several marigolds around them for a natural repellent. I look forward to these plants maturing to enjoy my love of peppers.Shipped very late (like 45 days) came with less than the number of seeds. Ask for more seeds, never sent, Amazon said I need to go through the seller, waited more. Then Amazon made it right and sent additional pack of seeds. Now several months later plants (the ones that grew) are producing big but no bigger than the normal jalapeño seeds I planted.Poor seller and product don't buy!
