I have the worst stress induced scalp psoriasis and for years I used every gross scalp shampoo on the market to no avail. I've used the T-sal, T-gel, Jason's, Head and Shoulders, Neem oil shampoo, Tea Tree shampoo, you name it. Since dyeing my hair is obviously out of the question with such a sensitive scalp, I found myself embracing my grays out of necessity and letting my hair go natural. Of course, using all the dandruff shampoos had turned my hair into a ratty mess and there wasn't much I could do about it. I walked around looking like the Divinations teacher at Hogwarts and despaired that my hair would never look good again.I stumbled onto this product when I was looking into Henna body art. I got interested and decided to buy it on a whim. I had it for months and never used it because I never have 6 hours to just sit around with a towel on my head. I finally bit the bullet one day when the kids were back in school and I had some free time. I mixed it up as follows:I made black coffee, 4 cups, with 4 scoops of coffee to brewI emptied the packet into a glass bowl and added several Tbsp EV Coconut oil & Several Tbsp Apple Cider VinegarI then began adding the hot coffee to the mix and get it to a pudding like consistency using a wooden spoon.I covered this mixture to keep the heat in and let it soak for many hours.I applied it after wetting my hair and putting Petroleum jelly around all my parts I didn't want to get colored (ears, forehead), and mushed it into my scalp really well. I covered with a shower cap, then a towel on top of that, and puttered around the house for 6 hours.I rinsed out in the shower. It took a while...The first time I did it, I had a wedding coming up in a week so I was scared to death about how it would turn out. When I rinsed it out, it was a little bright, especially on my gray hair. My scalp was bright orange. Over the course of the next few days, the color toned down and it looked awesome! My scalp eventually returned to its usual pasty white. I have dark hair so it gave me such beautiful dark red highlights where my grays are and left my hair a shiny dark auburn elsewhere. My hair hasn't looked so good in years. The best outcome that I wasn't expecting is that my psoriasis went away for a good 3-4 weeks. No itching, scaling, nothing. It was like I didn't have psoriasis for that time at all. I am hooked for life on this stuff. Nothing I have used has helped with the pain and itchiness of my scalp like this has. I bought this mondo pack of henna here on amazon so I will not run out for a long time.I am on my second batch and will be using it again tonight. I hope using it again doesn't change the color too much (my hair is still dyed from last time but unfortunately my psoriasis has come raging back and I need relief). I don't really mind if the color darkens. If anything crazy happens, I will update my post. If not, know that if you have dark hair and psoriasis, this stuff is a godsend and totally worth the time sitting around with the heavy, kinda stinky mass sitting on your head for 6 hours.
