Kona Joe medium roast coffee is unlike any other. Our coffee beans are roasted for a total of 17 minutes to bring out a delightful and delicate flavor. The naturally sweet Hawaiian coffee has hints of maplewood, milk chocolate and honey. We offer the first coffee ever to be grown like wine. Inspired by the family vineyard in California, we developed and patented a process that involves growing coffee on wires the same way winemakers grow grapes. Opening the coffee trees up to sunlight and aeration increases development of the coffee cherries, their ripening, and the natural production of sugar. Many coffee farmers use observation of the change of color from green to red to determine when to pick coffee cherries. We take a scientific approach, testing the coffee cherries for pH level, sugar concentration and titratable acid before handpicking them at their optimum maturity. I was introdused to Kona Joe coffee when I visited my daughter on the Big Island- Hawaiʻi. My daughter took me on their big tour and I got to see the whole process from the trees to the roasting & packaging.The flavor is so good and it is great whether it's iced or hot. Smooth yummy coffee whether reg or decaf! I have not ever had a tummy upset after drinking it! The price is really great, too. Consider a visit to the farm (it's on the Kona side) if you make a visit to the Big Island!
